CIS Newsletter - Sep 16

From the Editor

Summer is, slowly but surely, coming to an end and a new season of CIS events is about to start. As usual we have tried to vary our selection of retreats to reach various audiences, keeping in mind the comments and feedback we received from past participants. You may download the programme in pdf format or pick a printed copy from Mount St Joseph or Manresa house. We ask you to kindly help us to distribute the programme to as many people as possible.

Have you been too busy to notice God’s mercy this year? Have you ever thought of how you are practising mercy in your day-to-day life – in all its busy and noisy activities? This might be your last chance to consider a one-of-a-kind opportunity as the Jubilee Year of Mercy is nearing its end! This pilgrimage / retreat includes not only prayer experiences, meditations and sharing but also visits to historical sites such as San Pawl Milqi Chapel at Burmarrad and Mensija Chapel at San Gwann. A visit to the silent city of Mdina will explore its historical dimensions as part of a Jubilee Year of Mercy Pilgrimage that will be held to the Cathedral’s Door of Mercy.

Retreat for religious persons: The Holy Trinity – a model for religious life

Martha & Mary

Dates: Fri 30 Sep 16 - Sun 02 Oct 16

Venue: Manresa Retreat House (Gozo)

"In religious life, community is important. It can be a strong witness of communion, solidarity and love. Why not let our community life be inspired by the community of the Holy Trinity? During this retreat we’re going to pray in a trinitarian way and open ourselves for the tree persons of the Trinity that our community life may become more prophetic and of witness to the Gospel.

This will be a silent retreat and includes time for personal prayer, two talks per day and meditative liturgies."

Open to religious persons

Seeking inspiration …

“I now realise God, how much you have given me. So much that was beautiful and so much that was hard to bear. Yet whenever I showed myself ready to bear it, the hard was directly transformed into the beautiful.
