Vacancy - Office Administrator


JRS Malta is seeking to recruit an OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR to work with the organisation. This document outlines the qualifications required for the post as well as the job description.

Terms and conditions

The post is a part-time post, with the possibility of converting to a full-time post by the end of the year.

The selected candidate would be expected to work between 20 and 25 hours per week, on weekdays between 08:00 and 18:00, at times to be established by agreement with the organization. Individuals who cannot offer at least 20 hours per week need not apply.

Salary offered will be commensurate to experience. 


Applicants must:

→ be in possession of an A-Level qualification in accounts – significant and relevant experience may also be considered

→ be able to speak and write Maltese and English fluently

→ be able to work independently and take initiative

→ have good communication and organisational skills

→ be flexible and have the ability to work in a team

→ be willing to work with and for people from diverse cultures

→ possess a driving license (preferably own transport)

Previous experience working in office administration and/or front desk will be considered an asset.


Job description

The selected candidate will be expected to work as part of a team.

The OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR will be responsible for:

→ Daily book keeping

→ Office administration and general correspondence

→ Budget monitoring

→ Financial reporting

S/he will also assist with:

→ General fundraising

→ The organization and implementation of events and project activities

→ Preparation of funding applications and project reports

→ Welcoming/receiving migrants and refugees who visit the office

→ Any other tasks that may be required

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview and to undertake a number of tasks, which will include spending some time in the office in order to better understand the nature of the organisation’s work, before a final decision is taken.
