Potential for more collaboration with Italian Province

On May 11th, Fr Provincial attended the monthly meeting of the Italian Provincial's consult where he presented the Province of Malta and its work, and discussed the possibilities for further collaboration with the Italian Jesuit Province in different areas.

The two provinces have strong links, for Malta formed part of the Jesuit Province of Sicily from 1592 to 1940. Moreover, for the last twenty years or more, all Maltese Jesuits have done their first years of formation in Italy: young Jesuits know one another well, so the potential for consolidating efforts is great.

It was said that there is real potential for collaboration in many different fields, from the area of spirituality and formation of lay people, to youth ministry and vocation promotion. We will look for ways of putting this into practice by sharing what is being done, inviting one another to our activities, and looking for future synergies.
